Happy Thanksgiving

Hi Kayleen, I hope you had a great Thanksgiving. I went to your bird photo site and saw one of my favorite species, the Burrowing Owl. I was wondering where you shot those photos? We used to see Burrowing Owls on our propery here in Northern California but have missed them over the past several years.
I have built an artificial Burrowing Owl nest in the hope of attracting one, once again to our land. I believe they are a threatened species here in California and I would like to help turn that around.
Hey Larry, The Burrowing owl in about the middle of that page of photos was taken at Ft. Niobrara Nat. Wildlife Refuge. It's near Valentine Neb, in north central Nebraska. The one at the very bottom of the page was take on a country road southwest of Ft. Nio. NWR. They are, as you probably know, usually near prairie dog colonies. The farmers/ranchers I know absolutely hate prairie dogs.
