Spring Flowers

Stopped by Maxwell Arboretum earlier today. Last weeks blooming crocus are a memory, the daffodils are in full bloom, the white magnolias are blooming, the pink magnolias are budding, and the tulips are getting there.

Spring Flowers Have Sprung

Stopped by Maxwell Arboretum earlier today. The crocus are in full bloom, the daffodils are beginning to bud out, and the tulips are coming along nicely. Aaaah spring! Finally!

The honey bees were busy also.

Today's Flowers

Friday afternoon when I was coming home from Squaw Creek NWR I decided to take a detour from the interstate and visit Indian Cave State Park in southeast Nebraska. It’s been years since I was in the park and I wanted to see if it was worth a specific trip to spend a day there. My conclusion was a definite yes. My time was limited so I didn’t take many photos. One of the photos I did take was of these Dutchmen’s Breeches.

Saturday I did my weekly visit to Maxwell Arboretum. Love this pink Magnolia

And these Virginia Bluebells

Those of you who have visited previously may have noticed that I have done some “remodeling”. I have long felt constrained by the small photos that the old template allowed for. However, this morning I wondered if the larger photos make the blog load slowly for those on dial-up. Anyone that has an opinion can feel free to weigh in on the subject in the comments. If it makes it too slow, I'll see what I can do to adjust accordingly.

Today's Flowers

Aaah, it appears spring has sprung….

Today’s photos were all taken yesterday afternoon.

The daffodil was taken at Sunken Gardens.

The remaining photos were taken at Maxwell Arboretum. Maxwell Arboretum is on the East Campus of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.

I don’t know what kind of flowers these are, but they were pretty and very dainty. Any help identifying them would be greatly appreciated!

Last, but certainly not least is a Magnolia bud

UPDATE: It was bugging me not to have id's on the three flowers so I did some research today (which I should have done before I posted the photos). Anyway, the purple flower is a Glory of the Snow, the white one is a Common Snowdrop which Babooshka id'd, and the blue and white one is a Striped Squill (what a strange name!)
